School Lunch Prices

Published July 30, 2009

Williamson County parents will be happy to learn the cost for school meals will remain the same as last year. Elementary lunch will cost $2.50, while lunches at middle and high schools will cost $2.75. At schools where breakfast is offered, the price of breakfast will be $1.25 for elementary students and $1.50 for middle and high school.

In addition, the Williamson County Schools Child Nutrition Department has reduced the price of milk and juice from 60 cents to 45 cents. The cost for a side of vegetables or fruit has also dropped from $1 to $0.50 and adult meals are reduced from $3.25 to $3.

"Students can expect the same great taste and quality food they've come to expect at Williamson County schools," said Child Nutrition Director James Remete. "The Child Nutrition Department goes to great lengths to ensure each student has access to a healthy selection of lean meats, fruits and vegetables daily."

Parents can find the menus online and the elementary menus now will be broadcast on WC-TV on a weekly basis. Plus, the Child Nutrition Department is working to put in place a system by which parents will have full access to their child’s lunch account. This system will allow parents to make online payments, view their child’s eating history and receive emails when their child’s balance is low. Remete hopes to have that in place by January.
