Resource Connection

Williamson County students with disabilities and their families are invited to attend the 2010 Resource Connection in Franklin. The event will be held Tuesday, March 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Center in Franklin and will feature dozens of agencies that offer services to people with disabilities.
Organizers say the idea behind Resource Connection is to help students with disabilities begin preparing for life after school.
"For students with disabilities, everything changes after school ends," said Williamson County Transition Academy teacher Marie Wicks. "Leaving school is scary and that's why we want to connect these students with the agencies that can help them with making that transition."
Resource Connection is not just for older students. Organizers say the event is especially helpful for students in middle school and high school, as well as those between the ages of 18 and 22.
