Cultures and customs from around the world will be on display this weekend at the Ravenwood High School International Food and Music Festival. The event will be held Saturday, February 6, from 1-4 p.m. at Ravenwood High School. Now in its third year, the festival is designed to showcase the school's diversity.
"We want to bring awareness to the art, music and culture of the international populations represented within the Ravenwood and Brentwood communities," said Ravenwood counselor Tonya Lewis.
"This year we will have traditional Chinese, Irish, Indian, Israeli and Middle Eastern dancing - as well as piano, spoken word and acoustic guitar performances."
Other activities and booths will include an origami station, henna tattooing and Korean calligraphy. Of course, there will also be cuisines from multiple countries to enjoy. The cost of admission is $5. Children under the age of five and seniors age 65 or older get in free.
