Open Zoned Schools for 2010-11

The Williamson County Board of Education selected the schools that will be open zoned for the 2010-11 school year at its January 19 meeting. In addition, transportation zone lines have been approved by the Board for the three new schools that will open next year: Allendale Elementary, Pearre Creek Elementary and Spring Station Middle. Some open zoning opportunities will be available in the rezoned areas. To see the zone lines, visit the district’s WEBSITE. Open zoned schools include:
Brentwood High
- Open zoning to 50 rising ninth and tenth graders from Ravenwood High.
Brentwood Middle
- Open zoning to 25 students from the Grassland Middle zone who will be allowed to continue to Brentwood High.
Centennial High
- Open zoning to all students.
Heritage Middle
- Restricted open zoning to Heritage Middle for rising sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from Crowne Pointe south.
Page Middle
- Restricted open zoning to Page Middle for rising sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in the Bethesda Elementary boundary that have been rezoned to Spring Station (south of I-840 and north of Bethesda Rd./Cross Keys Rd.).
Page High
- Open zoning for up to 25 students from Independence High.
- Open zoning for up to 25 students from Ravenwood High.
- Open zoning to 50 rising ninth and tenth graders from Ravenwood High.
Pinewood Elementary
- Open zoning to all students.
Spring Station Middle
- Restricted open zoning for rising sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from Cherry Grove, Aston Woods, and Anderson Acres.
Winstead Elementary
- Restricted open zoning for up to 50 students to continue at Winstead Elementary from Franklin Green, Spencer Hall, Willow Springs and the new Barclay Place.
All restricted open zoning is a one year application option. Only those siblings that follow the “grandfathering” policy will be allowed to enroll in future years.
All out of zone/open zone requests will be handled on a first come, first serve basis. The requests will be date and time stamped by school staff. The window to apply will be from February 1 to May 15. The revised forms for the 2010-11 school year will be available the morning of February 1 at school sites and the district's website. For all out of zone/open zone students, transportation must be provided by the parent all the way to and from the school.
