New School Named Summit High

Published April 29, 2010

Williamson County's newest high school will be named Summit High. The Board of Education unanimously approved the name at its April 19 meeting. A selection committee comprised of administrators, board members and one county commissioner chose Summit High because it symbolizes the district's goals and beliefs.

"We wanted the name to represent an ultimate point," said Page High School Principal Andrea Anthony, who suggested the name. "With this being a high school, we wanted it to represent a pinnacle of education."

Construction continues on Summit High School, which is located on Twin lakes Drive in Spring Hill. The school is scheduled to open in August, 2011.
