Names Submitted for New Schools

Published October 29, 2009

The Williamson County Board of Education will vote in November to determine the names of the district's three newest schools.  The schools, which are set to open in August, include the west Franklin elementary school, the Spring Hill area elementary school and the middle school formerly known as Homestead.  Board members voted to rescind the Homestead name in October due to a lack of community support.

The names for each school were submitted by the public and narrowed down to a list of three by selection committees.  The following names will be officially presented to board members.

The three names chosen for the west Franklin elementary are:

  • Boyd Mill Elementary
  • Founders Ridge Elementary
  • Natchez Trace Elementary

The three names chosen for the south elementary school are:

  • Allendale Elementary
  • Creekside Elementary
  • Spring Creek Elementary

The three names chosen for the south middle school are:

  • Legacy Middle
  • Spring Station Middle
  • Station Spring Middle
