Heritage Middle School Principal Named

Veteran educator Dr. Mary Gist has been named principal of Heritage Middle School. Williamson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement June 7.
Gist is returning to Williamson County after serving as principal at Richview Middle School in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System for the past two years. She was assistant principal at Freedom Middle School in the Franklin Special School District for seven years, and she was a biology teacher at Franklin High for three years. Prior to her move to Tennessee a dozen years ago, she spent 14 years teaching science at Rogers High School in Florence, Alabama.
Gist received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, English, Education from the University of North Alabama in 1983; Master’s in Biology Education from the University of North Alabama in 1987; and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2004. She officially began her new role as principal of Heritage Middle School June 9.
