Health Services Information

Providing Williamson County students with a healthy learning environment is one of the district's top priorities. Williamson County Schools has 35 full time nurses on staff, with each school having access to a nurse.

"The school nurses have to prioritize their day with each school depending on the types of medical issues within the school," said Health Services Coordinator Jill Casada. "In addition to coordinating and overseeing the school clinics, the school nurses perform annual health screenings and ensure that all students are adequately immunized."

Williamson County parents must complete new health history, medication and procedure forms prior to the start of school. Those forms can be found by going to the WCS WEBSITE. Students that need to take medication at school must have their medications brought to school by the parent/guardian with the completed form. If they have questions about which forms are needed, they may contact their school nurse or Health Services Coordinator Jill Casada at (615) 472-4929.

Students are not allowed to carry medication to school. If parents/guardians would like to bring in medications/forms prior to school starting, they should call their school the week before school starts to make an appointment with their school nurse. In our health partnership schools (Hillsboro Elementary and Middle, Pinewood Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Fairview Middle, Fairview High, Westwood Elementary, Trinity Elementary, Bethesda Elementary, College Grove Elementary, Page High, Page Middle, Franklin High and Centennial High), students can only receive over the counter medication that the health department provides if the parent/guardian has completed the required documentation. They must obtain this specialized form from their school nurse.

In all other schools, over the counter medication must be brought in by the parent or guardian with the appropriate authorization form completed. The parent/guardian of any student that has a prior history of a medical condition that could impact their learning at school should contact their school nurse and set up a time prior to school starting to discuss a health plan that may be needed.
