Ferguson Named Principal of Pearre Creek

Published January 7, 2010

Nolensville Elementary Principal Beth Ferguson has been named principal of Pearre Creek Elementary. WCS Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement January 5. Pearre Creek is one of two new elementary schools that will open in August.

“This is one of the sad–glad moments in my life,” said Ferguson. “I have loved working with the Nolensville community. The students, parents and teachers are all committed to working together well. At the same time, I am very excited to move to Pearre Creek. I look forward to establishing new relationships and a strong learning community.

"One of my first goals is to meet with parents, discuss with them their hopes and dreams for their children’s elementary school and begin mapping out how we can achieve those dreams together.”

Ferguson started working in Williamson County Schools as a math teacher at Grassland Middle School in 1997. She also served as a gifted education consultant and assistant principal while at Grassland. In 2002, Ferguson was named principal of Nolensville Elementary. She was also a National Board Certified Teacher, the first in the district.

“Beth’s love of learning is contagious, and I am confident that she will bring that energy and enthusiasm to Pearre Creek,” said Looney. “She has a wide range of curricular expertise and also experience in opening a new school.”

Ferguson’s last day at Nolensville will be January 15. Looney will begin actively seeking her replacement immediately.
