Brentwood High School Parent Summit
Published February 18, 2010
Parents whose children will be freshmen at Brentwood High School next year are encouraged to attend this weekend's Parent Summit. The event was originally scheduled for January 30 but had to be rescheduled for Saturday, February 20, due to the snow.
The theme for this year's Parent Summit is Begin with the End in Mind. Organizers say the goal is to give parents the information they need to help their children begin a successful high school experience.
The Parent Summit will begin with a brief introduction, followed by a speech from Belmont University President Dr. Robert Fisher. Fisher will talk about building success through relationships.
After the keynote address, there will be a question and answer session with members of the Brentwood High School faculty. A group of ninth grade teachers will provide an overview of the ninth grade curriculum, preview textbooks and discuss academic expectations.
Lastly, parents will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from each of the major areas of school life. There will be display tables where parents can get more information on academics, arts, athletics and the PTO. Guided tours of the school will also be available.
The event will be held Saturday, February 20, from 1-3 p.m. in the BHS Campbell Center. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for registration.
