Allendale Faculty Hold First Meeting
Published April 1, 2010
With less than five months to go before the start of the 2010-2011 school year, members of the new Allendale Elementary School faculty met for the first time March 22 to begin preparations for the fall.
"This is our first opportunity for the new faculty to meet each other," said Allendale Principal Dr. Melonye Lowe. "We have teachers coming from all over Williamson County, so part of the meeting today will just be getting acquainted with one another."
Among those eager to meet the new staff was Allendale Assistant Principal Chad Walker. Walker is the current assistant principal at Hunter's Bend Elementary School but says he's excited to begin work at Allendale.
"Opening a new school is something I've always wanted to do and being a part of Allendale is a wonderful opportunity," said Walker. "Our first faculty meeting has given us the chance to begin defining the future of Allendale."
While the hiring process is not yet complete, Allendale Elementary currently has 36 faculty members; 28 of whom are classroom teachers. The others will serve as special content area teachers such as art, physical education and music.
"I am so excited to get to work with such an outstanding faculty," said Lowe. "They have such a love for students and a commitment to excellence. It was delightful getting to know them and I look forward to seeing how their work helps our students."
