WCS Educators Receive Booker Awards

Published March 12, 2009

Two Williamson County educators were among this year's recipients of the Monroe and Mary Booker Awards. Heritage Elementary School Assistant Principal Anthony Johnson and Ravenwood High School Assistant Principal Reggie Mason were honored at a special ceremony February 27 in Franklin.

Each year, the Booker Awards recognize four local African Americans who are living examples of what Monroe and Mary Booker modeled in their own lives: the value of an education and the obligation one has to make their own community a better place. Johnson and Mason are Franklin natives who graduated from Franklin High School before becoming professional educators.
