WCS Band Students Honored

Congratulations to two Williamson County students who were recently recognized for their outstanding musical talents. Katherine Aydelott of Franklin High and Billy Walick of Ravenwood earned the prestigious honors.
Katherine Aydelott is a sophomore bassoonist for Franklin High School. She was recently accepted into the Music for All Honor Band of America, which is widely known as one of the nation's finest student concert honor bands.
As a member of the Honor Band of America, Katherine will have the opportunity to rehearse with renowned conductors, perform with world-class guest artists and premiere new commissioned works. The Honor Band will perform in concert on the Butler University campus in Indiana on March 21, 2009.
David Aydelott is the Band Director at Franklin High.
Ravenwood High School senior Billy Walick will perform with the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. Billy is a senior tuba player in the Ravenwood High School Band, and was the only student chosen from the state of Tennessee to be part of the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.
The band is comprised of the top 97 marching musicians in America's high schools. They will perform January 3 during halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
Mark Kinzer is the Band Director at Ravenwood High School.
