WCS Art on Display at the Frist

Published September 11, 2008

Three former Williamson County students will have their artwork on display at the Frist Center later this month.  Ravenwood graduates Angelica Burdett and Amanda Sledge, along with Brentwood High School graduate Miette Bretschneider, were chosen to be part of a new exhibit called Young Tennessee Artists: 2008 Statewide Advanced Placement Studio Art.  Both Burdett and Sledge were taught by former Ravenwood teacher Brad LeDuc.  Brentwood High School teacher Barbara Bullard taught Bretschneider.

The exhibition, which begins September 19, showcases artwork by 33 Tennessee high school students who were enrolled in Advanced Placement studio art programs in 2008.  Their drawings, paintings, photographs and mixed-media works represent 15 schools and were chosen from more than 700 submissions from 20 schools statewide.   The exhibition continues through January 4, 2009.
