TCAP TESTING
Thousands of Williamson County students will soon be put to the test. Next week, students in grades three through eight will begin taking the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Achievement Test. The TCAP exam is a timed, multiple choice test that measures skills in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The TCAP testing window for Williamson County Schools runs through April 24. Practice resources and sample questions are available at the internet4classrooms website.
ACT EXAM
Also next week, high school juniors will take the ACT exam. The ACT is the nation's most widely accepted college entrance exam, and will be given to Williamson County juniors on Wednesday, April 22. The exam is a graduation requirement for Williamson County students and is comprised of four subject tests which assess English, math, reading and science knowledge.
Students will be required to follow a number of rules on test day:
-
No food or drink, including water, will be allowed in the testing rooms.
-
If a student's cell phone goes off during the exam, that student will be dismissed and his/her test nullified.
-
Calculators are permitted on the mathematics section of the ACT, however students must bring their own. Calculators cannot be shared between students.
Test results will be mailed to students' homes within six to eight weeks. Students who are absent on April 22 should register with ACT to take the test on a national test day (Saturdays). Practice resources and sample questions for the ACT exam can be found by visiting the ACT's website.
