Shining Apple Awards

The top volunteers of Williamson County Schools will be honored during the thirteenth annual Shining Apple Awards ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Franklin High School.  Honorees in each of four categories will be recognized for service to the students of Williamson County during the event sponsored by the Williamson County YMCA Fun Company and the Williamson County Board of Education.

Volunteers being honored in the Business and Industry category include Bethesda Market & Deli serving Bethesda Elementary; Publix, Cool Springs, serving Kenrose Elementary, Woodland Middle and Ravenwood High; Publix, Spring Hill, serving Chapman's Retreat Elementary; General Motors Spring Hill, A World in Motion, serving Heritage Middle and Sonic Drive Ins, serving Franklin High. 

Community Volunteers to be honored are United Way, serving Fairview Middle; Leopard Ladies, serving Fairview Middle; Joyce Nichols, serving Sunset Elementary; John Niznik, serving Trinity Elementary; and Karla Reynolds, serving Heritage Elementary.

Teachers as Volunteers honorees include Jenn Beasley, Centennial High; Angie Cathey, Franklin High; Cathy Dennis, Franklin High; Lauren Herring, Centennial High; and Jennifer Morris, Chapman's Retreat Elementary. 

Elementary school parents being honored for their service include Anna Bell, Heritage; Linda Hughes, Kenrose; Hally Lockhart, Crockett; Wendy Lucas, Crockett; and Michele Marston, Hunters Bend.

Middle school parents being recognized include Joni Donegan, Grassland; Nancy McGinnity, Sunset; Julie Meadows, Heritage; Patty Shannon, Woodland; and Christine Yu, Woodland. 

High school parents include Ana Fick, Ravenwood; Cherie Hammond, Ravenwood; Richard Jones, Franklin; Suzanne Matherne, Brentwood; and Janine Moore, Page.

Review teams selected the honorees.  Members include Pat Anderson, Tim Brown, Michelle Contich, Amanda Eubanks, Jane Franks, Wesley Fox, Steve Gallaway, Susan Graham, Dan Hampton, Cyndy Howse, Tim McLaughlin, Janice Mills, Janine Moore, Ralph Ringstaff, Jaci Stewart, Joan Tidwell, Barry Watkins, Rick West and Jubal Yennie.
