Dr. Sharber Scholarship Winners

Published May 28, 2009

Eight Williamson County high school graduates were recently named recipients of the Dr. Rebecca S. Sharber Scholarship. Dr. Sharber was the Director of Schools in Williamson County until the end of 2008 and had spent 20 years in an administrative role in the county as an elected superintendent, county commissioner, interim superintendent, principal, and appointed superintendent.

"Employees decided that the best gift they could give her was to award scholarships in her name to deserving students," said Judith Looney, HR Director. The recipients were chosen by the teachers and counselors of each high school. Each graduate will receive a check for $230 to help with expenses as they begin their college careers.
