Director of Schools Candidates Chosen

The Williamson County School Board will begin interviewing the three candidates tonight for the director of schools position. The board invited Bryan Blavatt of Kentucky, Terri Breeden of Virginia and Bret Jimerson of Texas to take part in interviews, which will be held in the media center at Centennial High School and are open to the public. The School Board will meet in a special session immediately following the final interview on April 30.


Bryan Blavatt served as superintendent of Boone County Schools in Florence, Kentucky from 1996 to 2008. He has more than 40 years of experience in the field of education.

Blavatt will be interviewed Wednesday, April 29 at 8 p.m.


Terri Breeden is the assistant superintendent of professional development for Fairfax County Public Schools in Falls Church, Virginia. Breeden served 20 years with Metro Nashville Public Schools in positions ranging from the classroom to the central office.

Breeden will be interviewed Wednesday, April 29 at 6 p.m.


Bret Jimerson is deputy superintendent of the Grand Prairie Independent School District in Grand Prairie, Texas. He has a doctorate in education and holds both an MBA and a law degree.

Jimerson will be interviewed Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
