Williamson Students Shine at CMA's

Published November 8, 2007

Some Williamson County students got the thrill of a lifetime at the 41st annual CMA Awards Show. The event was broadcast live November 7 from the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville.

With millions of eyes watching from around the world, the Brentwood High School Marching Band performed with country music star Brad Paisley. The students played the introduction to Paisley's hit song Online.

Toward the end of the performance, a couple of the band members even jumped on stage and danced with country stars Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler. The night got even better for Paisley who walked away with the award for Male Vocalist of the Year.

This is not the first time the Brentwood High School Marching Band has collaborated with Paisley. The country star invited the band to help record the song Online in April of last year. It appears on his latest album titled 5th Gear.

Brentwood High was not the only Williamson County school represented at the awards show.  Independence High School student Eric Cash also attended the CMA's.  Cash wrote several of the songs on the new CD by John Amos including We Were Hippies
