Power Mondays Return
Published June 26, 2008
In a move that is sure to please some local high school students, the Williamson County School Board recently approved a measure to continue Power Mondays at high schools during the 2008-2009 school year. Power Mondays allow teachers an opportunity to work together several times a year to develop strategies for instructing students. On these days, students come to school about 30 minutes after the normal start time.
Ironically, not every Power Monday is held on the first day of the week, which is why some schools refer to the program as Late Start Days. Although classes begin a half hour later on these days, busses will continue to run at their regular times. Students arriving to school early will have the benefit of choosing from several supervised activities.
