Franklin High School Offers New Schedules

Published February 7, 2008

Franklin High School students will be allowed to choose from four schedules beginning next fall.  The Williamson County Board of Education unanimously approved a proposal January 28 to offer FHS students the opportunity to choose among the following schedules:

  • 6:30 a.m. to 1:42 p.m.

  • 7:30 a.m. to 2:37 p.m. (the current schedule)

  • 8:25 a.m. to 3:42 p.m.

  • 9:13 a.m. to 4:47 p.m.

Only core classes such as English, Algebra II, foreign language and U.S. History may be available at times other than the regular school day.  The new plan will give students more flexibility in terms of after-school jobs and extra-curricular activities.  It will be voluntary for both teachers and students, and there will be no extra cost for the changes.  Bus service will continue to follow the current schedules.  Students will select what schedule they want to follow for the year, but administrators will monitor the schedules at semester breaks.
