Adult Education

Adult education programs across the state will receive some additional funding this year as will the program in Williamson County Schools. Adult Education Coordinator Rhonda Booker says she already has plans in place to increase the number of successful students in Williamson County.
“We hope to help more students get their general education degree, GED, by offering extended class times, and by offering additional testing times for the official practice test, OPT, of the GED,” said Adult Booker. “A student must take the OPT before taking the GED.”
In addition, Williamson County will offer a new program called FAST TRACK. This program allows students who score high enough on the OPT to take their GED for free.
Williamson County Adult Education offers free GED classes to anyone 18 years or older who is not currently enrolled in school. A free orientation class is required.
This project is funded under an agreement with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
