Williamson County Schools Zoning Parameters

Published October 26, 2006

The Williamson County School Board will be establishing zone lines for two new elementary schools next year, so the Board established zoning parameters for the staff. Those parameters include:

  • Opening the new Nolensville Elementary and Longview Elementary as K-5 schools.
  • Planning to develop feeder patterns over time, as best possible.
  • Reducing enrollment at Sunset Elementary by rezoning a segment of its students to the new Nolensville Elementary and possibly some to Edmondson.
  • Grandfathering siblings per Board policy.
  • Rezoning some students from Chapman’s Retreat and Heritage to open Longview Elementary.

The Board also instructed staff to look at high school rezoning and tweaking as necessary, starting with rising ninth graders and adding a grade each year.

The staff will prepare zoning recommendations for the School Board to review at its November work session. A Board vote is expected in January.
