Published November 9, 2006

Striving to keep our students healthy has earned Williamson County Schools another honor. The Tennessee Department of Education has awarded the Williamson County School Nutrition and Food Services Department the "Keys to Excellence Award." The honor is handed down by the School Nutrition Association, which is the national organization of school nutrition districts across the United States. Williamson County is the 19th district in Tennessee and one of 76 in the United States to receive this award. Areas of achievement include administration, communications and marketing, nutrition and nutrition education, and operations.

"It is an honor to be named as a District of Excellence in school nutrition," says Williamson County School Board Chairman Gary Anderson. "I am proud that Williamson County Schools has attained that level of recognition."
