WCS Names New High School Director

Williamson County Schools Director Dr. Rebecca Sharber has named longtime educator and administrator Dan Hampton high schools director for Williamson County Schools.
With more that 30 years of experience in the field of education, all at the secondary level, Hampton has been an assistant principal, principal, teacher, coach and club sponsor. In addition to his work in traditional high schools, he has lead alternative schools and court ordered juvenile centers.

“Dan brings a great deal of experience to our district, and I believe that he will be a great addition to our central office team,” said Sharber. “He has served in all levels of administration and worked in a variety of educational settings.”

Hampton joined Williamson County Schools during second semester last year as an assistant principal at Independence High School.

“The opportunity to work at Independence helped me learn the operations of the school district,” said Hampton. “I am truly excited to be a part of what I consider the premier school system in the State of Tennessee and one of the top school systems in the nation. Williamson County Schools is truly a ‘Learning Community’ at the highest level. I am anxious to begin work as we continue to make the high schools in Williamson County the best they can be.”

Hampton replaces Jack West who was named Heritage Elementary School principal in late June.
