Two Meetings Set for School Zoning Meeting

Published January 25, 2007

The Williamson County School Board will vote on new zone lines for Longview Elementary and Nolensville Elementary schools on Monday, January 29 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Williamson County Administration Complex. The Board is now scheduled to vote on the high school zone changes at a special called meeting on Thursday, February 8 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Carolyn Campbell Room of the Central Office located at 1320 W. Main Street in Franklin.

The Williamson County Board of Education met in a work session Monday night, January 22 and reviewed adjustments made to the high school zones. The major change to the high school plan involves the Sullivan Farms and Dallas Downs subdivisions and moving that high school zone from Independence to Centennial. It is the belief of the staff that because of the limited growth in the Centennial zone, Sullivan Farms and Dallas Downs families will be able to attend Centennial High for many years to come.

The revised transportation zones can be found on the district’s website at www.wcs.edu. Select bus routes and zoning. Parents are invited to share their comments with Board members by phone or via email, and those addresses can be found on the website.

In addition, a come and go information session will be held beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 29 at Centennial High School regarding the high school changes. Maps will be available for review, and staff members will be available to answer questions.
