Page High Teachers and Administrators Present at Conference in New Orleans

A group of teachers and administrators from Page High School recently presented at the 21st annual High Schools That Work Staff Development Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

PHS Assistant Principal Dr. Tim Brown presented the session English Graduation Exams: Strategies That Work for Special-needs Students; Principal Dr. Andrea Anthony, Assistant Principal Dr. Marge Lofstrom and teacher Amy Hart presented the session Senior Project: Self-reflection + Community Service = Future Success; and teachers Kathy Dye, Jennifer Nastri and Katie Roney presented the session Best Practices for 'Not Yet' Grading.

All sessions were well attended and some schools are even planning follow-up discussions and visits to Page High as a result. The Page High School teachers and administrators also attended several other sessions, taking home valuable information about what other schools are doing with Literacy Plans, academic rigor in Career and Technical classes and Freshman transition programs.

The High Schools That Work Staff Development Conference is for states, districts, schools and teachers to set goals and implement 21st century strategies that ensure all groups of students are prepared for success in postsecondary studies and the new workplace.
