IN FOCUS was recently the focus of a presentation at the National School Public Relations Association's (NSPRA) annual conference. Williamson County Schools Communications Director Carol Birdsong, Communications Specialist Matt Klitzke and Communications Assistant Lydia Glynn hosted a session during the conference held in Phoenix, Arizona July 15 through July 18.
The presentation called Out With the Old, In With the Newsletter: How to Make You School District Communication a Full Media Experience laid out the process of creating IN FOCUS, and explained to other school communications officials around the country how they can make a similar project work for their districts.
"I was pleased that we could share the success of our email newsletter with other public school districts across the country," says Birdsong. "While many of them are producing similar newsletters, the way we integrate all areas (email, website, cable TV, and podcasting) seemed to capture their attention."
The National School Public Relations Association's mission is to advance education through responsible communication. NSPRA has provided school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Dependent Schools worldwide since 1935.
