A Franklin High School student was recently honored by the Tennessee Department of Education as part of its Tennessee Honors Program. The program honors high school juniors who have established outstanding academic records and earned top scores in a research project contest. Joshua Chung joins the group of students who all have earned a 3.4 GPA and completed a research project in the arts, language arts, science, social studies, math or career and technical education (CTE). Chung participated in science.
“Each year this is an opportunity to celebrate students with exceptional academic drive and enthusiasm for learning,” Education Commissioner Lana Seivers said. “We hope the recognition encourages them to continue striving for excellence in education.”
Students were honored for their accomplishments at a ceremony with Commissioner Seivers at the Capitol. Each student received a certificate of recognition by the Governor and an Apple iPod.
