CHS Marching Band to Play at Fiesta Bowl Events

On Tuesday, December 26, the Centennial High School Marching Band will depart for Phoenix, Arizona, and the 2006 Fiesta Bowl Parade and Marching Championship.
Approximately130 students, chaperones and staff will first travel via motor coach to Amarillo, Texas. Following a stop for the night, they will complete their journey to the Phoenix Airport Marriot.
On Friday, December 29, at 11:45 a.m., the marching band will perform their Fall show “Counterpoint” in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona – Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship. The full day of competition will take place at the new Arizona Cardinal Stadium.
On Saturday, December 30, at 1 p.m., the Marching Cougars will perform in downtown Phoenix, in the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade. The regionally televised parade attracts nearly 500,000 spectators.
While in the Phoenix area, the Centennial Band will enjoy a morning of rock climbing and horseback riding at Box Canyon, South Mountain, and a trip to the Grand Canyon.
From the Grand Canyon, the Marching Cougars begin their trip home, with stops in Albuquerque, and Oklahoma City where they will visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The band will arrive back home on Wednesday, January 3.
